if you didn't know ex existed, you can um make your uh paint, you know, flame resistant. All right, today I'm going to be talking about additives that you can actually put in your paint. We're going to be doing an exterior paint job. I'm going to talk about uh some additives. There's some additives that are interior additives, some additives that are exterior additives. One I use like all the time right here, and that's an insecticide. Putting an insecticide additive in paint. I'm a big believer in you, you paint the house and like here there's spiders just everywhere. A year later the set lights um you know in any type of lighting attracts gnats which attracts spiders and a year later after having a new paint job the paint job just does not look good doesn't look sightly because of all the bugs on it and all the spiderw webs on it. So on an insecticide additive I've been using uh those additives probably over 20 years extremely effective. Um, here's a product I've used for somewhere around that period of time. It's called Bug Juice and it's an insecticide additive. Lasts 5 to seven years. It's a great great product and I know from past history going back to, you know, customers houses 5 to seven years later, it's still effective in the paint. It's a great product. This is a product from um Shervin Williams M1. It's the uh same same product just a different name. So, let me I I'll just look at it. see if it's the same chemical. They're the exact same thing. There's actually absolutely no difference. So, insectctor additive. I think it's an absolute must. We're going to be putting it in the sheds here. We're going to be putting it on the exterior of the house. Another product I'll talk about, Okon paint booster. This is a waterproofing agent. You can actually put in paint. I use it um on stucco where there's stucco. It's having a problem with water getting into it, getting into the crack um cracks, freezing and thawing and damaging the the stucco. there's any reason that you need to waterproof your paint, Okon Paint Booster is a product that I've used in the past, it's very effective, works great. It doesn't degrade the quality of the paint. You just dump it right into the paint, stir it in. Once again, I've used it, you know, um doing Stucco in the past. I've got an attitude down there of flame guard. There's some reason you need to make your paint, you know, flameproof if it's going if you're painting around where a barbecue is going to be. I know there was a customer, you know, originally um wanted me, they lived in the foothills, uh where, you know, fires can actually be a problem and they wanted me to put this fire retardant in all of their paint to, you know, make their um paint, um flame resistant. So, it's flame guard liquid fire retardant paint additive, class A fire retardant. If you didn't know ex existed, you can um make your uh paint, you know, flame resistant. Here's a product I use. Do like it. It's um it's um paint sensations. You can add flavor to your paint. Not flavor, but um you can add pretty cool smells to your paint. This is vanilla bean. You just put it right in the paint. Typically last, you know, 3 to 6 months in the paint where it smells really good. So, if the customers don't like the ode to the paint, you can put paint sensations in there. Um here's another product right here, M1 additive. I've actually um it's a uh advanced mildeicide additive where I've actually done um bathrooms where there's moisture problems. You don't have good ventilation. If mildew is a problem, some paints don't have a mildicide in it. I've actually added milicide in paints, you know, where there was a mildew pro um mildew problem. So, those are some of the additives. These all came out of my trailer. So, I um have used them all at some point in time in the past. You never know what your customer may, you know, want down the road. Once again, out of all of them, I use Bug Juice a lot. Uh I think when I was painting four to five houses a week, you know, we were putting it probably in 70% of the homes that we were actually applying. So, there's a little bit about additives. You can actually add to paint if you're a professional painter. Um, in my bid packet, these were options the customer can choose and we would just add it into the price and it could be an upsell that you actually do if you're a professional painter.
