for live. Putting it to the test. A new software. So, we're going to see this works. Testing out a new software. Rcreen and um for my live shows. I'm going to see what it looks like. Answer some questions. Um just testing it out. So, assume people jump on the chat. Got to see how the chat works. >> Yeah, we're going to see if it is connected to YouTube. Find out >> says we got a viewer. Let me know. Hey, top coat painting. >> There we go. So, >> it's worth it. People are jumping on. >> I even add music on it. So, >> guys, he's a painter. music. It's a pretty cool song. [Music] So, pretty cool. >> So, what's up, Alan? >> How's it going? >> So, the last did our live show and um gave away and a bunch of other stuff. I went back and watched it and it didn't look that great. And so I'm testing out this software. What's up, Jonathan? Lisa couldn't read um the feed. So now the feed is huge. So check it out. Um and I can actually um let's see if I can um say let's see hide chat overlay. I don't know if you guys noticed that. Oh, there's So the chats there right there on the side. So I think I can actually um the music is loud. Oh, let me turn it down. [Music] >> So, how does that like >> how how does the music sound now? Like I got to find out like like you know how the music sounds and see I can show your comments. Kablam and I and I assume you guys see the comment right there. Um who won the sprayer? Um, you know, that's a good question. Um, I don't have it in front of me, but I'm sure he's happy. He actually bought, I think, 10 10 tickets. So, um, what software are you using there? So, look at that. I can just show the comment over there. Now, my wife can read it. So, um, how are you doing today? I'm doing great. Um, see who just asked that. Um, who won the sprayer? Jonathan um asked who won the sprayer. So, you'll have to go back and watch the live show I posted the other day. Everybody that won stuff was on um you didn't have to be on the live show to win, but um but it's kind of cool. This is actually I like totally dig this. So, have a job ahead painting my garage. Cheap door, but it's peeling. So, look at that. I can just pop it up and it shows. I don't know if you guys see it up there, but that's pretty dang cool. so I can post your guys' questions up there. Alan Schneider says, "I like your videos." Thank you very much, Allan. So, um, I can actually turn up the sound, turn down the sound. So, check it out. So, I can just pause it now and get rid of the music. Um, I just plan on like playing music, you know, as I go in and go out and and highlighting um Carl Wayne Meakin's music because he's a country uh music singer and he's a painter. He's a full-time painter. So, I love that. And I actually really like his music and the um song Color for Lonely is pretty dang awesome. It was written about a painter. So, um that's pretty cool. So yeah, I can just pop the feet up and I'm like loving this. Have you guys got questions today? So um you should give away an echander. So guess what I was just talking about um the next giveaway with my wife and um today and Afton and we thought we would give away a Sander. So I think that's uh we came to the conclusion that will be the next um giveaway. So, we're going to set that up and we're going to do another giveaway. And um look at that. U Oh, yeah. Jonathan Thompson said, "Thanks for um letting me know about the free samples from Sasho." I got my free sample pack if you um it was all free. You didn't have to do anything to actually, you know, get a sample pack. So, um and you got a whole box of cocking and you know, some cockings are $10 a tube, $12 a tube. So, it was like a $70 you like package that Sashka was giving away. Hopefully, they'll let me do it again um sometime in the near future. So, um Jonathan says, "Your advice has really helped me, helped my painting business." That's awesome to hear. Um love to hear that. SL up the sound a notch. So, I can actually So, check it out. So, I can play I don't know if you guys want sound in the background. Say like um we just play here. So, is that like too low? Just test them out. I have it like um pretty low. So, hopefully that's like just kind of I can put any music um on here. It's kind of really cool. So, it's reream is a software if you guys uh want to do um live shows yourself and it'll actually do simultaneous live shows. And I'm testing it right now with YouTube. I'm going to um run simultaneous Facebook and YouTube live shows right now. It's only cuz I'm just using the free version. It says it's only 720 um p um high definition. So, I'm not sure what it looks like. I wasn't happy with the last live show. It looked really pixelated. Um when you pay for it, it's like $40 a month. You It will do it in high definition um 1080p. So, I just wanted to test it to see how everything works. But I love it cuz it's like your questions. They're right there really big. They're right there really big. So, hopefully we won't be um missing any, you know, questions anymore. Your giveaways could cost a fortune to ship to Canada. Um yeah, that's you know, you know, that's part of giving away stuff. So, like all the stuff we gave away on the last live show, my wife actually has to um package it all up and send it all out, man. So, um we don't mind. So, um that's part of um what we're about, man, is just giving away um giving back to the painting community. So, I got to like remember the cameras up there. Um so, I got to look at what's going on on Paint Life. I got um the gooseeneck brush and it saved me on some jobs. Thank you, Victor. You said that. So, the gooseeneck brush right here. We gave one away on the last live show. There's the gooseeneck brush. I'm going to check it out like on my phone to see if I can see. Does it say the live show, you know, how do you guys even find out like that I'm live? So, um like cuz when I'm on my phone, it doesn't say anything, you know, about it. But um so uh my wife always gets notified so got to get back to work. But thank you for the advice and videos. They have really helped me my painting business. Jonathan Thompson says um really appreciate everybody that comes here and I really appreciate your support. Um I wouldn't exist unless you guys, you know, watched my shows and watched my videos. So um really appreciate it. Gina, always a VIP. Hi Chris. hope you're doing well. She says, "Alan Schneider, happy to check out your store um for my paint business." So, we have a on um we have an online store. We've we've been had an online store for quite a few years now and um and we had a retail front and we don't have a retail front anymore, but we do do local deliveries. We ship worldwide and we do local deliveries. But I've got um five grandkids and I've got two more coming and I just couldn't man a retail store and man do everything else I'm doing shooting videos. It was just got to be just too much. Um so I got a YouTube notice. So Jonathan says he gets um Ombberto receiving a popup notification. So he received a popup. So that's pretty cool. So now I can like if you guys say stuff I can pop your questions up right there. So, that looks pretty cool. I'm kind of curious like it like I can actually, you know, show it in the feed. I'm going to just see what that looks like. Well, new comments will display there. So, I'm not sure if you guys now see it on the side of the screen. I mean, when I go back and watch this video, um, I'll see, but I was wondering how it like actually was going to integrate, you know, with, you know, YouTube and um, set it up. And so, that that's kind of cool. So, um, you know, cuz I only see the sides are all cut off now cuz it it shows in the stream, but I don't think I need it and like can you guys see the chat um when I don't have it on the screen? Um, you know, so that's what I'm kind of curious like. So, now if I um hide the chat overlay, do you guys see the um people's questions and comments? So, cuz I know you guys um people interact with each other and answer each other's questions and stuff, which is actually really cool. That's what this whole Paint Life thing is all about is, you know, supporting, you know, each other. I don't know if you guys know, but I started a Facebook group called Paint Life members, and it's a private group. I think I don't know, it has, you know, maybe 22,000 members on it now. And it's a place where you can go, you know, get your questions and comments, um, questions answered, you know, and typically if you ask a question, you're going to probably get 20 people answer your question respectfully. And I, and the motivation for starting that was is there was um, you know, a well-known chat group. I would, you know, occasionally jump on and I'd go in there and ask questions and even just when I jump on, people would see me on there and people would just begin attacking me right off the bat. anytime I asked a question, people, you know, would attack me and and some people actually brutally attacked me. And the moderators never did anything about it. They never told the people to to be respectful and stuff. And so, and I would see them do it to just not me, but other people, but you know, me in general, they, you know, did it, you know, excessively. And so, that was kind of like my motivation to, you know, start pay members the group. And you know, we don't allow cussing. We don't allow the disrespect. And anybody that asks a question should be able to get a professional answer. And and that that's for do-it-yourselfers um and professional painters. So you'll get do-it-yourselfers get on there, ask a question, and um and people will get all upset and um you know, when people are answering the question, but it's it's for do-it-yourselfers also. And you know, my philosophy, you know, when I started my YouTube channel, you know, back in 2011 was I I started making these videos and I had it on the back of my truck is, you know, pretty controversial, you know, for some time was why pay why pay a painter when we will help you for free. And, you know, I always felt like if I was willing to help my clients out, ask nothing in return. if they couldn't do it themselves, then more than likely they would call me up, you know, and ask me for a bid. And so, you know, um that was my philosophy. And I've got over 3,000 videos on YouTube now. And guess what? Um we're all busier. And heck, every painter in this valley's got more work than they can handle. And um you know, with every and I'm not the only one creating videos anymore. And so just because we're creating videos, just because I got five videos how to cut in the ceiling line, that doesn't mean you're going to learn in 15 minutes how to cut a ceiling line in. So you're just not going to. So um that's um you know, one of those things. Whoa, that would be a phone call. That's my daughter. So when you hear that loud phone call, um that's her. I got to tell her I'm doing a live show. Um let's see. on a live show cuz every time it scares the crap out of me when my kids call me. I want it to be to know. So, somebody says right here, "What's um what's the difference from surf sander and echoander?" Um also want to say thank you for all the help for the videos. I really um really started growing a lot. That's awesome. I really appreciate it. So, what's the difference between a surf prep and an echan echand? Nothing. So, oh, well, actually there is something the color. So, Surf Prep is blue and red. Um, Ekkasan is blue and yellow. They're the exact same sander. No matter what anybody tells you, they come out of the same factory. um you know you know uh the individual that started Surf Prep used to work um for E for UNIDA and so he went off started his own business and um get the sanders from the same place. Unidita's been in business. They're the ones that um that make the the Echoan sander and um they don't make it. They they both get them they buy them from the same factory. They make all their own abrasives. They've been in the abrasive and sanding business for like 54 55 years now. Family-owned and operated company. Been in business and manufacturing, you know, the world's best abrasives, um, and selling these amazing sanders for a long time. The family's amazing. I've toured their factory. I've been there. I I know them all personally. I'm friends with them, you know, all now. And I've done a lot of guest appearances, you know, in their booths and stuff. And so they make great stuff. So all I can say is um they have an amazing sander, but the braces that go along with it is they make them and they make the best. They will only um make the best. So I'm a big believer in their company, their familyowned and operated company. The owners, brother, sister, um are just incredible. The father who started the company, their father started the company is is amazing, too. I did an interview with him and posted an interview. Did an interview with um all of them and and did a video touring their factory if you want to see that. So, let's see. Um it says, let me see. I got let me see. Get back. I'll scroll. Do you have um in Idaho, do you have um in Idaho, do you have roll up metal garage doors? How would you prep the surface? And what type of paint goes on these metal doors? I learned that. So on the metal garage doors, every one of them we paint them with the same paint that we paint on this um the house. So I typically like I like um Sherwood Williams Duration. I like um Benjamin Moore Aura. I like um Bear Dynasty. Those are three great paints. All of them will go right on the garage door. And all we do to prep the garage doors is like the rest of the house is we just pressure wash it. If it's really oxidized, you just got to pressure wash it really good. We pressure wash. No chemicals with a rotating nozzle and a 2700 PSI pressure washer. It's pretty simple. I've never had garage door paint on a metal garage door ever fail with our process. So, um let's see. Next question. Um and that was um we'll go back to that. That was um Lawn Dog Lawn Dog asked that. So go back to him saying is it it is not going to sell on that's on your knee a knee a phone call that's my daughter's phone call um it is not going to sell on that on your knee I'm not I don't know I'm not reading that right. So um anyways I just learned Zenzer has an odorless oilbased primer. Any experience with it? Um, I haven't I um so I didn't even know they had an orderless one myself. I've used all of Zenzer's products. I love them. They make um absolutely incredible products. I love Ben. I love 123. Um it's great stuff. I mean, I've used Cover Stain. Uh Ben Ben is is amazing. Um, so for resolving fisheye problems, doing cabinets, any type, any type of fisheye, get a bomb can of bin, spray it, boom, it's done. So, um, California, we've got, um, Arondo from California. What's up, Cal? That's where I was born and raised. Been in Idaho for 30ome years now. So, um, opinion about Fesol. So, I think Fesol makes, you know, great products. So, I've had a bunch of Festool products over the years. Um, are they the best? In my opinion, no. Um, you know, I think for like a full line of products, I think I in my opinion, America, you know, is the best. I mean, make absolutely incredible stuff. When it comes to a 3x4 sander, uh, and sanders in general that I've used from Festo, they're too big and bulky. They did come out with a 3x or no, Merc, it came out with a 3x4, but it doesn't vacuum. So, um, Fest Tools is not 3x4. I think it's 3 and 1/2x5. And so, and it's bigger and it's bulkier. I've got their battery operated one. Um, if if you don't have electricity, I mean, it's a great little sander. Um, by far to me the most versatile sander, the best sander I've ever used. Echoands 3x4. Absolutely amazing. I love it. They make great great stuff. So, um, seen one of your videos on staining exterior and you use bug juice. Absolutely love bug juice. Um, just stained our log cabin and used the bug juice and it's been a few months. No spiderw webs. I love it. And I've actually literally seen it on apartment every everything I've ever used it on. I've seen it, you know, last over five years. Um my I probably should have told my um wife to turn off her Wi-Fi. Um hopefully we'll see. Hopefully I haven't lost anything, but let's see. But that's okay. Let's go back up. Um my microphone pay Let's see. My microphone pay some of your voice about the phone calls. Sorry about that. And I tried to remove it. Um, that's interesting. My my microphone paint live picked up some of your voice about the phone call. That's weird. Um, that's strange. Um, anyways, um, that was Lawn Dog. Um, so we got, "Do you take responsibility for disconnecting and connecting appliances and laundry or moving a fridge on hardwood floors?" No way. So appliances, um, have your customers move the appliances, man. I've scratched, um, hardwood floors. I've, um, torn vinyl flooring. I've broken tile. I've done it all, man. You're It's It's risky. There are times when, you know, when you will have to no matter what. And you should have furniture sliders. You should have the the proper equipment. But I highly recommend I I always tell the customers, we don't move appliances. I I disconnected a refrigerator once and um the refrigerator the the water, you know, connection. I couldn't get it connected back together without it leaking. I had to go to the the plumbing store and get new parts. I mean, what a pain in the neck. Let me see. is a um it is speech at to text and it heard your voice. Oh, that that's interesting. Um that's crazy. So it got my that speech to text. That's wild. Dragons naturally speaking. Um so cuz it I I saw a message come up that it said, you know, that I was disconnected. So looks like I'm still connected. Looks like it reconnected again. So, what semi-transparent deck stain for deck floors do you recommend for a Minnesota climate? By far, if you're um new wood, um new lumber, uh stain and seal, expert stains, um expert stain and seal products, expert wood care, they're it's they're the all the same. They have a gigantic company installing fences and decks, but they also manufacture their own products. If you go to my store, you'll see their products on my store. absolutely love them. You got to go see my videos using it. It's It's flaw It's flawless stuff, man. You can't mess it up. You You're not going to get overlaps. You're not going to get runs. You're not going to get um you know um you don't have to backbrush it. It's incredible. It adds something to the wood. It adds life to the wood. The wood's not going to split, crack, all that stuff. So, you got to give it a try, man. I I can't say enough about it. You just got to go watch some of my videos about it. I absolutely love it. So it's speech to text. Um so I what so what semi-transparent dex stain just showed that one. I painted the white Chick-fil-A in Idaho on and about a town trip 5 years back. A a chick oh a Chick-fil-A. I was like an In-N-Out just came. That's pretty cool. Um I didn't see your truck. My boss um but my boss at the time did keep on going. Great. Thanks for all that's pretty cool. You should have hit me up, man. I would have um went over there and videoed you guys painting a place. That's pretty cool, man. If anybody like has ever wants me to come hang out at their job site, man, um hit me up. I would love to come out and um paint with you for a couple days. If you're local, I'm not going to like fly across the country like, you know, to go paint with you, but um if you're local, man, if you're flying into town to do a Chick-fil-A, man, I'd love to come watch you guys and and chat and stuff. So, what do you do? very high ceilings or what do you do very high ceilings? Do you get scaffolding or do a ladder? I've done I I've used scaffolding once in my entire career. It's…
