Tools I control overspray with! #toolsinaction #toolbox #overspray

What happens here

In this step, the presenter demonstrates using the cardboard shield holder to protect high, sensitive areas from overspray. He points out a red stripe and lights on a building that need to be shielded while spraying adjacent surfaces. The shield holder allows for precise paint application close to these elements without causing contamination.

Goal: Prevent overspray on high architectural features and fixtures.

Tools and materials

  • Airless Paint Sprayer — Applying paint
  • Cardboard Shield Holder PNTR — Protecting the red stripe and lights from overspray
  • Extension Pole — Extending the reach of the sprayer
  • Ladder — Reaching high areas for painting and shielding

Hide

Whenever you're spraying with an airless sprayer, you'll overspray is always going to be an issue. Whether it's windy or not, whether you're trying to keep overspray off of the footings up here, I'm going to be spraying, and there's a red stripe and lights up there, and I've got to get close to that. I don't want to get any overspray on it. I'm going to use my cardboard shield holder to control the overspray. They just use 30-inch shields right here. They're just throw away shields. We use them over and over again. We rarely throw them away, actually, because it adjusts simply and easily.
